I swear there was something in the food That loosened up my tongue

I never really saw this town Looking back from the river
Lights from the houses shone The moon was a sliver

And I know it’s been a while
Since I slept in someone else’s bed
But I think I’d best be getting home instead

Walking through the snowy streets Everything calm and slow
I imagine how it was All those years ago

When I first moved to this town The place seemed pretty rough
Now it’s like a free for all No one ever gets enough

They tore my old house down
And they’re putting up something new
I wanna be in the world
But I don’t know what to do

I watch the sun make a weak attempt
To brighten up this day
Remember how the world used to be
Before she slipped away

Standing on the steps to my house Key in my hand

Sometimes this place feels haunted By all things we did

I walk back through town
